Our dentist, Dr. Aaron Gross, has taken care of thousands of patients throughout Connecticut and has been recognized by the people of Hamden and New Haven County as its Best Dentist and as one of Connecticut's Best Dentists for several years.
Our dentist and hygienists take pride in their ability to offer the best materials and most refined techniques for their patients, including:
Our goal is to provide comprehensive dental care for you and your family in a comfortable, relaxed and state-of-the-art environment. Our patients come from far and wide to experience the exceptional care we offer. Our team is approachable and we work to ensure that each patient is given the individual attention required and deserved.
Our office, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT, uses the Waterlase Iplus Laser. Laser dentistry enables our dentist to work faster, without drilling and with less or no anesthesia. The Waterlase Iplus laser is extremely accurate and allows our dentist to remove decay with precision, while leaving the surrounding areas of the tooth unaffected. It also does not generate heat. vibration, or pressure, which are the primary causes of pain associated with the traditional dental drill. Waterlase Iplus also reduces the time necessary for many dental procedures, allowing our dentist to perform many procedures in a single appointment.
At Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT Single Tooth Anesthesia allows our dentist to accurately numb a single tooth without any facial numbness. Single tooth anesthesia replaces a conventional needle injection that is still used by most practices. This method is an alternative to placing an anesthetic painlessly and allows our dentist to work quickly in the area requiring restoration. As a patient, you are able to leave your appointment without the usual facial numbness that accompanies conventional anesthesia and resume your normal activities.
Intraoral cameras, or IOCs, are used in all of our treatment rooms at Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT. These sophisticated cameras are facilitated by our dental software and are very small. The cameras enable patients and staff to view the condition of a patient’s teeth and gums.
Using this modern technology, we are able to use magnification to precisely focus on the areas of the teeth and the mouth that require attention. We are able to view those full color images on the monitors in the treatment rooms. By displaying the images to the patient, patients gain the opportunity to participate in his or her dental care by being able to see what his or her provider sees. The doctor and hygienists are then able to educate, discuss dental concerns and answer questions. Overall, these images encourage communication between the patient and his or her provider.
Our office, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT, uses digital dental software and is a paperless office. With this software, all x-rays and charting are made and recorded using the computer. The technology allows us to maintain your dental records electronically, and reduces the unnecessary paperwork used with traditional paper charting. The consistency created by the software enhances our security and efficiency. Staff members are easily able to find, update, and utilize required information and provide the most accurate care to our patients. The information is also, if necessary, readily available to other health care providers.
Our office, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT, uses CEREC technology. CEREC is the best technology available to create ceramic dental restorations in one office visit with computer assisted design and manufacturing. With CEREC, we can provide in one appointment, a long lasting, metal-free restoration that will restore your teeth to their natural beauty with function and strength. There are no messy impressions, less injections and no need for a temporary restoration because there is no in-between visit. CEREC also allows our dentist to preserve as much original tooth structure as possible. With CEREC, we can create crowns in a day, veneers, onlays or inlays with less time out of your schedule for dental care.
At Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT Our dentist and hygienists perform most of their dental procedures while wearing a pair of magnification glasses called telescopic loupes, or dental loupes. These powerful glasses allow our staff to see extremely fine details in a patient’s mouth and teeth and enable them to work with greater precision.
Our office, Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT, uses Prophy-Jets in our oral hygiene appointments. The Prophy-Jet is a modern alternative to traditional polishing. Instead of a rotating rubber cup containing abrasive paste to clean your teeth, the Prophy-Jet uses a high-pressured water and baking soda solution to remove plaque and staining caused by food, drinks, and smoking. The Prophy-Jet is also a recommended treatment prior to teeth whitening as well as before and after dental braces are attached to the teeth.
Using our dental software, we are able to process your claims electronically. This means that instead of printing and sending your dental claim through the mail, it is sent digitally to your insurance company via our software. When claims are filed in this manner, information is submitted more efficiently and with fewer errors. In turn, this benefits our Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT patients because the claims are completed faster and fewer claims are returned, denied, or lost in the mail. It is our pleasure to submit your claims on your behalf to your insurance company.
X-rays, or dental radiographs, are used in dentistry to uncover cavities, malignant or benign masses, hidden structures and bone loss. The radiographic image is created when a controlled and focused beam of radiation penetrates the area of the mouth at varying levels, depending on the anatomical differences, and then strikes the sensor. Decay often appears dark in the image, while healthy teeth appear lighter.
In our Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of CT office, our equipment and software enables us to use digital radiography. We utilize the Sirona Orthophos SL, the Cone Beam x-ray unit at the forefront of the industry. This technology allows us to take three dimensional and two dimensional radiographic images using up to 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. These images are highly detailed and allow the doctor to diagnose dental concerns and determine precision treatment planning with minimally invasive surgeries.
For patients who are missing one or more of their natural teeth or who suffer from teeth that are severely damaged or malformed, Dr. Aaron Gross of Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of Connecticut is pleased to offer the option of cosmetic implant dentistry. Made of pure titanium, dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are permanently planted into the jaw. The artificial tooth root is then allowed time to osseointegrate, or form a bond to the bone in the jaw. After the surgery, a custom-crafted abutment and porcelain dental prosthetic is then affixed to the implant, allowing patients to regain the complete function, feel, and appearance of their natural teeth. Whether used to replace a single missing tooth or support a bridge or a denture, dental implants give patients the confidence of knowing that they have the most secure and aesthetic solution to missing teeth currently available. Dr. Gross’s implants and restorations are so natural looking they are virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.
